As someone who is frugal, loves cars, and enjoys a challenge I have perfected the art of buying used cars, specifically cars under $1,000.
I have done two presentations on this topic so far, one presentation was at Ignite Portland. It was very enjoyable, I got to lead off (no pressure) and had a great time working with the audience. The people at Ignite Portland events are all friendly and generally awesome so it is not as nerve racking as you might think. Here are the slides, please see below for the video:
My friend Josh Bancroft was putting together a Best of Ignite Portland talks for Gnomedex 8.0 and I was fortunate enough to be chosen. Gnomedex was the best conference I have ever attended for so many reasons, I have never enjoyed myself at any event as much as I did at Gnomedex. It was very well organized, all the speakers were top notch as well as the attendees, there was one track so you actually got to know people and stay engaged. I even got to go on a bus trip (was only left behind at a rest stop once) and made lots of new friends. Here are my slides (I added a new car, 84 BMW 733i), and my presentation:
