Client X is launching a new Round Tuit and wants to monitor mentions of his product on launch day.  The client does not know about RSS, or the web, but knows people are talking about his product and wants to know what they are saying…

    Sources:

    Tools:

I had been using RSS Mixer in the past but that service is no more… looking around I found Feedbite, but it would only accept RSS 2.0 and Twitter search results are in ATOM… doh! On to Feed Informer

Setting up my account was easy, then I added the RSS feeds for my different searches to my new digest, tweaked some setting and design bits and that was it.  Now I can output my pretty RSS digest to the client in any # of formats.  Giving the digest in an RSS formatted URL is super simple: RSS Feed You can also display all the results on any page, as a picture or even pdf. The down side is that Informer (with the free account) only shows 25 results per page, and I was not too thrilled with their settings for display/ordering etc.  Also the site had some bugs, RSS feeds were not always saved and other minor annoyances were not show stoppers but did not foster any loyalty either.

Enter xFruits, after searching around some more I settled on the RSS Aggregator from xfruits.com.  This site is like an RSS Ninja ready to slice and dice your RSS feeds into any format, variety, delivery method you want.  The options for sorting and display are excellent, you can also tag your feeds, bascially everything I have been looking for,  lets hope xFruits sticks around for a minute.  You can see my aggregated RSS feed here: http://xfruits.com/trustustech/gptw/ (notice the custom URL, not some ugly hash tag, go xFruits!)

Hope this helps, please let me know if you have any questions or feedback!  The best way to reach me is via Twitter
